Mechanical Engineer

Serves on a full-time basis.
This is a salaried senior staff position
Hours worked will be whatever the job requires.

Position overview

Performs a variety of engineering functions by applying the basic engineering techniques and analyses practiced within several disciplines.

Some assignments will require CAD capabilities

Client interactions will include meetings with proponents to establish project requirements, creating cost estimates and material requirements, as well as, presenting proposals and conducting presentations. Domestic and international travel will be required

Specific responsibilities

Must be capable of independently performing various engineering and design assignments, requiring a thorough knowledge of basic technical principles and engineering fundamentals as studied in a typical accredited 4- university degree.

Must be able to perform fundamental engineering calculations, develop material specifications and takeoffs, estimates, surveys and designs.

Must be able to prepare detailed requisitions for cost-effective material purchases and sub-contracts.

Must be able to prepare detailed specification sheets and other construction documents

Must review suppliers’ calculations and specifications, drawings and technical submittals for accuracy.

Performs any other duties and responsibilities associated with this position, as may be required.

Education and Experience

Minimum a 4-year degree in mechanical and/or chemical engineering

A minimum of 5-years field experience in a related industry such as refinery, oil & gas, petroleum and power.

Solid knowledge of engineering and scientific principles.

Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Must have a professional appearance.

Must meet customer security requirements.

A background check by federal authorities will be performed.

References must be provided and will be checked.

Probationary period

A mandatory probationary period of twelve (12) months is required, during which termination for non-or unsatisfactory performance and/or conduct may occur.
