80%* of bearing failures are as a result of lubrication issues.
Wind Turbines have experienced gearbox failures since the first one in the United States was built in Cleveland, Ohio by Charles F Brush in 1888.
Since gearboxes are one of the most expensive components of a wind turbine, the higher-than-expected failure rates are adding significantly to the cost of wind-generated energy. In addition the future uncertainty of gearbox life expectancy is adding to the cost escalation.
Industrial oil deteriorates over time due to solid particles from the machinery, absorption of moisture from the atmosphere or from condensation, and from contamination of hydrocarbon gases. The Allen Oil Conditioner is designed to purify a variety of industrial oils and prolong its useful life almost indefinitely. The AOC will remove all solid particles down to 5-micron, water down 5ppm or less, and all hydrocarbon gases.
The self-contained Allen Hydroscav Oil Purifier system uses filtration and thermal dehydration to remove solids and moisture from almost all types of oil. The AHS will remove all solid particles down to 5-micron, water down 50ppm or less and hydrocarbon gases through C9. With a compact design, Allen Hydroscav Oil Purifiers allow for easy installation and accessibility of components for servicing.
A ship’s bilge water is a mixture of discharges and leakage from a wide variety of sources, which drain to the lowest compartment (bilge) of a vessel. Bilge water includes seawater accumulation, normal water leakage from machinery, and wash downs. It can also contain a variety of constituents such as solids, cleaning agents, solvents, fuel, lubrication oil, and hydraulic oil.
